On this week’s podcast, we have the pleasure of speaking to Eliza Reid. Eliza is one of two founding directors of the Iceland Writers Retreat, an annual gathering for published and aspiring authors comprised of small-group writing workshops and cultural tours in Iceland. She is also editor of Icelandair’s in-flight magazine, Icelandair Stopover, and has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers in the UK, U.S., Iceland, and her native Canada. Eliza is a former staff writer at Iceland Review magazine. Visit her at www.icelandwritersretreat.com and www.elizareid.com.
Eliza is in Chicago this weekend as part of Taste of Iceland in Chicago, a festival celebrating Icelandic culture. In addition to many other fun (and FREE) Iceland-themed events, Eliza will be giving a talk called The Write Stuff: Why Iceland Inspires Us to Put Pen to Paper on Sunday, March 20th at 2 pm at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel. Iceland is one of the most popular destinations for creative minds, and Eliza will focus her talk on what makes Iceland so inspirational for lovers of the written word.
The Taste of Iceland in Chicago also marks the kick off of Icelandair’s year-round service out of Chicago O’Hare International Airport beginning on March 16.
