On our upcoming episode we are joined by the wisecracking Elizabeth Gomez to talk about a topic that is sometimes stressful, sometimes terrifying, usually amusing and always memorable: traveling with children.
Elizabeth Gomez is the founder of the Windy City Rollers (roller derby league), a founding writer at Drinkers with Writing Problems, a comedian, and all around a**hole. You can see her performing all around Chicago or in the corner of any dark bar, laying down next to her bar stool. Find out more by following her on twitter @JuannaRumbel.
1) Where have you traveled?
I lived in a lot of places because I was a military brat, but in my adult life I have been to Oaxaca, Vietnam, Canada (Montreal & Toronto), Tokyo, Bangladesh, Nepal, Nicaragua, Aruba, and Tulum.
2) What’s been your favorite trip so far?
Wow. That’s a tough question because (forms fingers into Gyan mudra, que zen music, light incense) every trip is its own experience….Ooooooooommmmm.
3) What are 3 things you always take with you when you travel?
Not including my toothbrush (because that’s a given) – headphones and phone filled with music and podcasts (plus it’s a camera, yo!), a little black dress just in case I get invited to a party (I never get invited to a party), and a pair of Converse (because I’m flat-footed bad ass).
4) What’s your next destination?
Spain and Turkey this summer.
5) Give us 1 reason why you travel.
So I don’t have to be at work, duh.
